Prof. Dr. Cherubino Leonardi is a Full Professor of Vegetable and ornamental crops at the Dipartimento di Agricoltura, Alimentazione e Ambiente (Di3A), University of Catania. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1994. He was an evaluator of research projects and an international referee of papers published in international and national journals. He was also the project coordinator of the research unit responsible for national and international research projects. He is a lecturer in international masters and has been invited to speak at several international congresses. He cooperated with the FAO, organizing technical tours for international delegations, as a Technical Consultant and FAO Regional Working Group member on "Greenhouse Crop Production in the Mediterranean Region”. He is a Member of the SOI, ISHS, and SIA and was deputy head of the Department of Agricultural and Food Production Sciences (DISPA) of the University of Catania, was president of the Scientific Committee of the Consortium I.TE.S. (Technological Innovation of Greenhouses) - Palermo, was president of the Technological district Agrobiopesca – Palermo, Italy, and was Chairman of the International PhD course in Agricultural. Since 2020, he has been a member of the Management Board of the Agricultural Experimental Farm (AAS) of the University of Catania. Since 2021, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Consortium for Research in the Dairy and Agri-food Industry Sector (CORFILAC), Ragusa.
