Francesco Sessa is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Legal Medicine, Department of Medical, Surgical and Advanced Technologies “G.F. Ingrassia”, University of Catania, Italy. He also holds a position as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Foggia. He is a Technical Consultant in the field of forensic genetics for several Italian Courts. He holds a Ph.D. in Translational Medicine from the University of Foggia, studying adverse effects linked to the use and abuse of anabolic–androgenic steroids. He is a member of G.E.F.I. (the Italian Scientific Society, belonging to the International Society for Forensic Genetics) and the American Academy of Forensic Science.
Massimiliano Esposito (MD) is an Associate Professor
of Forensic Pathology at the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, “Kore” University
of Enna. He also serves as a Post-Doctorate Research Fellow at the University
of Catania. His research interests are generally in forensic pathology,
autopsy, high biological risk autopsies (such as COVID-19), molecular autopsy,
histopathology, forensic genetics, and forensic toxicology. He also holds
membership in other professional societies, including member of the Italian Society
of Forensic Medicine (SIMLA), Topical Advisory Panel Member of Applied
Sciences, etc.
Monica Salerno is an Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine at the Department of Medical, Surgical and Advanced Technologies "G.F. Ingrassia", University of Catania, Italy. She obtained her Ph.D. in the methodological approach to forensic and surgeries sciences at the University of Bari. Her research activity is focused on forensic pathology and histopathological science, autoptic techniques, forensic toxicology, forensic genetics, medical professional liability, clinical governance and risk management, bioethics, compensation for personal injury, vaccination issues, and professional diseases.
