Marianne Sætre Amundsen received her master’s degree in history from the University of Bergen in 2022, as part of a five-year integrated teacher education programme. Her academic background includes Nordic language and literature, with a bachelor’s thesis focused on literary analysis. Since 2023, she has been pursuing a PhD in history at the University of Bergen. Her research project explores memories of World War II in Norway and Denmark across time and generations, focusing on how descendant positions are constructed in literary texts by descendants of both Holocaust victims and Nazi perpetrators. Her research interests include cultural memory, intergenerational memory, history didactics, and the uses of history.
