Prof. Katia Mangano is an Associate Professor at the University of Catania. She earned her degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology from the University of Catania, qualifying as a Pharmacist in 2001 and earning her PhD in Microbiological Disciplines in 2004. She has conducted research in immunology, immunopharmacology, autoimmunology, and experimental oncology at the Laboratory of Immunopathology and Translational Immunopharmacology within the Department of Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences at the University of Catania. Her research focuses on the pathogenic mechanisms underlying these diseases in both animal models and humans and on evaluating the efficacy of new therapeutic approaches. Her research program has established collaborations with numerous international pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies and has also contributed substantially to advancing the preclinical and clinical development pipelines for the compounds under her study.
