Kiril Manevski holds a PhD in agroecology from Aarhus University, Denmark, graduated environmental engineering from the University "Ss. Cyril and Methodius" in Skopje, North Macedonia, and MSc in Remote Sensing from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Greece. He has been working as a researcher at Aarhus Universityfor the last decade, alongside the Institute of Earth Environment and the Center for Agricultural Resources Research at the Institute of Genetics and Developmental Biology, both at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Kiril' research interests focus on tightening water and nitrogen cycles across scales and numerical modelling of agroecosystems, as well as the added value of perenniality and terrestrial remote sensing analyses. He also coveys research and education capacity building in southern Asia and Africa, involving fruitful work with students at MSc and PhD level. He is also experienced in curricula design and MSc/PhD courses planning and implementation. Dr. Manevski currently holds an associate professorship at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a combo-position of researcher-senior science advisor at Aarhus University.
Magdalena Ullfors graduated in the field of agricultural sciences focused on crop science at Kiel University (B.Sc.) and environmental management at Aarhus University (M.Sc.). During her master's work at the Department of Agroecology of Aarhus University, she explored an agroforestry system designed for optimal pig production while reducing nitrogen reactive flows. To gain understanding on the system's nitrogen cycle, she delved into pig elimination behaviour while analysing topsoil mineral nitrogen and soil water nitrate data. As a research assistant, she continued beyond the scope of a thesis. She worked with image analysis, water balance modelling and further statistical analyses. As a next career step, she aspires to apply scientific findings in the industry sector.
