Author Biographies

I am a Filipino academic and researcher specializing in wildlife and conservation biology, with over a decade of experience. As a member of the IUCN Deer Specialist Group (DSG), my current work focuses on the ecology and conservation of the Philippine brown deer (Rusa marianna Desmarest, 1822) in Mindanao Island, the Philippines. I have been involved in multiple projects studying tropical cervids, primarily in the Philippines, as well as in temperate and Mediterranean regions. I employ camera trapping, habitat suitability analysis, and human dimension surveys. I am also experienced in working with various local and indigenous communities in the pursuit of conservation research, planning, and policymaking. My interests include expanding my expertise to all cervid species in the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia.
