Prof. Dr. Toufiq Reza earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He was appointed as a research scientist at Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering in Potsdam, Germany. Following stints at the University of Nevada, Reno, and Ohio University, Dr. Reza came to Florida Tech in August 2019 as an Assistant Professor. He is currently an Associate Professor leading the Biofuels Lab. His research interests involve the conversion of wastes to biofuels and materials, and his research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the U.S. Department of Energy, the American Chemical Society, and other state and federal agencies.

Deepak Kumar is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. He received his B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering from the Punjab Agricultural University, India, in 2006; his M.S. in Agricultural Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India, in 2009; and his Ph.D. in Biological and Ecological Engineering from the Oregon State University, Corvallis, OR, in 2014. He is also a Member of the American Society for Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE), the American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACCI), the Association of Agricultural, Biological & Food Engineers of Indian Origin (AABFEIO within ASABE), and a Life Member of the Indian Society for Agricultural Engineers (ISAE). His research interests include bio-based circular economy; novel fermentation technologies; enzyme application and kinetics; modeling and multi-objective optimization of biological and chemical processes; and techno-economic analysis (TEA) and life cycle assessment (LCA).
