Katia Cortese is an Associate Professor of Human Anatomy at the Department of Experimental Medicine (DIMES), University of Genoa, Italy. She completed her PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Milan and has been awarded national and international grants for her research in advanced imaging and cancer morphology. She currently leads the MorphoLab—Cellular Electron Microscopy Laboratory and coordinates projects on HER2-positive breast cancer, focusing on antibody–drug conjugates, organelle communication, and morphological signatures of therapy response. She has published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer and guest editor for several international journals and research programs. Her teaching disciplines include human anatomy for biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, and her research interests span morphological reasoning, subcellular imaging, and the ultrastructural basis of drug action.
