José Eustáquio Ribeiro Vieira Filho is a researcher at the
Brazilian Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea), holds a PhD in
Economic Theory from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), and conducted
doctoral research at the GREThA (Research Group on Economic Theory and Applications)
at the University of Bordeaux. In 2014, he was a visiting scholar at the
Technology and Change Lab (TCLab) and the Institute of Latin American Studies
(ILAS) at Columbia University. He also holds an MSc in Applied Economics from
the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), a certificate in Public Administration
from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), a BSc in Economics from the
Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and a BSc in Mathematics from the
University of Brasília (UnB). In the federal government, he was responsible for
developing and evaluating public policies on science, technology, and
innovation in the agricultural sector. From 2010 to 2012, he served as a member
of the Brazilian Economic Council (Cofecon). From 2019 to 2021, he was the
project director at the Executive Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of
Agriculture. In academia, he has taught in the Master's program in Public
Policy at Ipea. In 2013, he received the Rui Miller Paiva Award from the
Brazilian Society of Rural Economics, Management and Sociology (Sober).
Manuel Castelo Branco is a professor at the School of
Economics and Management of the University of Porto, Portugal, and a researcher at CEF.UP and
a member of OBEGEF. His research interests focus on corporate social
responsibility (CSR)/corporate sustainability (CS) and related reporting,
corporate corruption, corporate tax behavior, accounting and financial and
non-financial reporting, and accounting and the public interest. He teaches
courses on accounting and corporate social responsibility/sustainability and
related reporting. His research has been published in numerous journals,
including the Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Accountability, Accounting
Forum, British Accounting Review, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of
Cleaner Production, and Journal of Sustainable Accounting, Management and
Policy. In 2021, he published the monograph "Corporate Social
Responsibility, the Fight Against Corruption and Tax Behavior" with
Springer.
