Author Biographies

Prof. Dr. Radoslaw Spiewak is a Professor in Dermatology and Allergology. He earned his M.D. in 1996 and his Ph.D. in 2003. He was awarded a permanent professorship in 2017, has been a board-certified dermatologist and venereologist since 1999, and has been an allergist since 2010. His research focuses on the dermatitis and eczema disease spectrum, in vivo and in vitro diagnosis of allergies, and mechanisms of contact hypersensitivity, photoallergy, and phototoxicity. He is the author or co-author of more than 450 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and more than 50 scientific monographs and textbooks. He is also listed in the directory of the world's top scientists (Elsevier 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025). His international awards include the Howard I. Maibach Award, the EAACI Exchange Research Fellowship Award, and the Albert M. Kligman Fellowship. His national awards include the Team Teaching Award, 1st degree, from the Rector of the Medical University of Gdansk for co-authoring the textbook "ABC of Urticaria: Urticaria in Questions and Answers" (2018), the President's Award of the Polish Farmers' Insurance Institution (2003), the Team Award of the Institute of Agricultural Medicine, Lublin (1999), a Prof. Mieczyslaw Obtulowicz Honorary Diploma (Polish Allergology Society, 1997), a Fellowship of the Polish Science Foundation (1996), a "Primus Inter Pares" Silver Medal (1991), and Rector's Awards (Silesian Medical Academy, 1988, 1989, 1990, and 1991).
