Nicole M. Verrills is a professor in the School of Biomedical
Sciences and Pharmacy at the University of Newcastle. She earned her Bachelor
of Science (Hons) and PhD from Macquarie University. She is also a member of
the American Association for Cancer Research and sits on the organising
committee of the HMRI Conference on Translational Cancer Research. She is also
a committee member of the HMRI Cancer Research Group Steering Committee and the
Analytical and Biomolecular Research Facility (ABRF) Advisory Group at the
University of Newcastle. She has received several awards, including the Young
Tall Poppy Award from the Australian Institute of Policy and Science and the
HuPO Young Guns Award, both in 2007.
Kirsty G. Pringle is Assistant Dean of Equity, Diversity and
Inclusion in the College of Health, Medicine and Wellbeing, as well as a
teaching and research academic in the School of Biomedical Sciences and
Pharmacy at the University of Newcastle. She also leads the Placental Biology
and Pregnancy Research Group within the Women's Health Program at the Hunter
Medical Research Institute. She earned her Bachelor of Science (Hons) and PhD
from the University of Adelaide. In 2024, she received the Society for
Reproductive Biology (SRB) Award for Excellence in Reproductive Biology. Her
discovery-based research focuses on improving our understanding of pregnancy
complications to enable us to identify and treat these conditions more
effectively.
