JOSEPH PATRICK HART studied medicine at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2008, and was first appointed as an Attending Vascular Surgeon at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY in 2006. He was a Marco Polo Scholar of the Society for Vascular Surgery in 2005. He completed the Executive Master of Healthcare Leadership program at Brown University in 2019 and has been designated a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, is a Lifetime Member of the National Eagle Scout Association, and is a graduate of Regis High School, NYC.
MARK GLYNN DAVIES is a Trinity College, Dublin graduate, and obtained the FRCS (Ire) and FRCS (Eng). In 1991, Dr. Davies joined Duke University as a Research Fellow, completing the Duke University Surgical Residency in 1997 and Vascular Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington in 1999. He is board-certified in Vascular and General Surgery, Wound Care, and in Medical Quality. His MBA is from the Simon School of Business at the University of Rochester, his MHPE from the University of Chicago, and his MMI from Northwestern. In 2008, Dr. Davies joined Houston Methodist (as Vice Chairman and founding Program Director, training programs program in vascular surgery). In 2015, he joined the UT San Antonio as Professor and Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, founded a fellowship, created the South Texas Center for Vascular Care, and created a joint UT-DoD faculty and residency partnership. In 2023, he joined the Ascension Medical Group and Providence Hospital in Waco, TX. His clinical interests are managing complex vascular disease, improving vascular access outcomes, and accelerating advanced wound care. He has held a K08 and NIH R01s. He pioneered new endovascular and molecular therapies in vascular disease and has participated in multiple clinical devices and gene therapy trials. His clinical research interests are in vascular quality and outcomes. He is a passionate advocate for developing the specialty of vascular surgery and mentoring trainees and colleagues.
