Gavino Sanna is currently an Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Sassari, Sardinia, Italy. After five years at the EniChem Research Center, Porto Torres, he became an Assistant Professor. In 2018, he obtained the Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale as a Full Professor in Analytical Chemistry. With more than 100 publications in international journals, books, and patents, his research focuses on instrumental methods for the analysis of organic and inorganic analytes in food, materials, the environment, and biological samples. Major contributions include the determination and speciation of minor analytes in traditional Sardinian foods, the influence of irrigation methods on the bioaccumulation of health-threatening elements in rice, and electroanalytical studies of metal ion–biological ligand interactions. His expertise extends to food safety, environmental analysis, materials science, and biomedical analysis. He is the Associate Editor of the Separations journal, MDPI, and of The Journal of Agriculture and Food Research, Elsevier, as well as the Guest Editor of several Special Issues and Topical Collections for MDPI (Molecules, Separations, Foods, Processes, and Analytica) and Elsevier journals (The Journal of Agriculture and Food Research).
Prof. Dr. Javier Saurina is an Associate Professor in the Department of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Barcelona. He has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed papers and has presented his research at various national and international conferences. Throughout his academic career, Prof. Dr. Saurina has received several awards and research grants and is actively involved in professional societies and educational organizations. His research mainly focuses on analytical chemistry, with a particular interest in developing and applying advanced analytical techniques for chemical analysis.
