Author Biographies

Declan Tuite is a lecturer/researcher at DCU – Dublin City University. He received his PhD in Digital Anthropology from UCD – University College Dublin, and his MSc. in Multimedia  from TCD – Trinity College Dublin. His practice-based research spans responsive media installations and spatial audio composition, grounded in digital anthropology and social science methodologies. Declan develops responsive installations, composes generative and algorithmic sound environments, creates spatial audio works, and performs experimental music. His current research investigates gesture and embodiment through sensor technologies and XR platforms, bringing visitors into immersive mixed-media environments where movement drives generative systems. Previous research explored networked relationship online. His work addresses themes of heritage, temporality, and identity through the intersection of technology and human experience. Current projects include Macalla, examining architectural spaces as co-creative instruments in ambisonic composition, and has performed pieces at Brighton Digital festival, DRHA, ISSTA and ECREA.
