Yuan-Ming Zhang: He received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in 2002. From 1998 until now he has been working at Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Now he is a research fellow, on the academic/degree evaluation committee, and a doctoral/master tutor at the Institute. In 2002, he was appointed associate research fellow, in 2003, promoted to research fellow, and is now mainly engaged in research on plant ecology in arid zones and desert biological crusts. His research areas include arid plant ecology and desert ecosystem functions. Ye Tao: Obtained Ph.D. from the Institute of Applied Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015.He has been working at the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2016.Currently serves as an Associate Professor at the institute, researching plant ecological adaptation in arid regions. Cheng-Cheng Wang: He is a Ph.D. candidate.
