Joanna Wyleżałek, Dr Hab. Prof. SGGW, a sociologist and pedagogue, is Director of the Institute of Sociological Sciences and Pedagogy at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and a graduate of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of the University of Silesia in Katowice, where she defended her doctorate and obtained her habilitation in the discipline of Sociology in the Faculty of Social Sciences. She is a member of the Main Board of the Polish Sociological Society and the Board of the Section of Sociology of Science. Her research focuses on mechanisms of power and social control, as well as the social and educational functions of universities.
