Philip Moore is a professor of space geodesy at the School of Engineering, Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He holds a BSc in mathematical sciences from Birmingham University and a PhD from Brunel University. He joined Newcastle University in 1999 as a professor of space geodesy as part of the Geomatics Group, formerly within the Departments of Mathematics and Civil Engineering at Aston University. His research concentrates on applying mathematical and computational geodesy to multi-disciplinary aspects, including precise navigation, geophysical inferences from satellite orbital perturbations, mass redistribution and gravity field studies from dedicated gravity field missions, global hydrology for ungauged basins using remote sensing, and intelligent transport systems.
