Author Biographies

Murtala Nyako Musa was born in Yola, Nigeria. He is a mechanical and ocean engineer with a strong passion for renewable energy and offshore technologies. His career reflects a unique blend of technical expertise, research innovation, and dedication to sustainable engineering solutions. He earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Eastern Mediterranean University, Cyprus, where his final project, “Design and Fabrication of a Thin-Walled Pressure Vessel,” showcased his interest in structural design and materials engineering. He later obtained an M.Sc. in Offshore Engineering from Istanbul Technical University (ITU) under the supervision of Prof. Ahmet Ergin, completing a thesis titled “Structural Analysis of Offshore Wind Turbine Support Structures Under Hydrodynamic and Aerodynamic Loads.” Currently, Murtala is pursuing a Ph.D. in Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering at ITU, supervised by Asst. Prof. Deniz Bayraktar. His doctoral research, “A CFD and Potential Flow Motion Analysis of a Spar Buoy with Multiple Appendages” utilizes ANSYS Fluent and ANSYS AQWA to enhance the hydrodynamic performance and stability of floating offshore wind platforms. Murtala’s academic and professional journey reflects a lifelong commitment to innovation, integrating research and practical expertise to advance sustainable energy and ocean engineering technologies.
