Valeriu Surlin is an Associate Professor of Surgery/Chairman at the 6th Department—Surgical Specialities I, University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova, Romania and Head of the Clinic at the 1st Clinic of Surgery, Clinical County Emergency Hospital, Craiova, Romania. He received his PhD Degree in Medical Sciences from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova in 2002. His main research focuses on pancreatic cancer, surgery, surgical oncology, gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and acute pancreatitis. In addition, he is a member of the European Society for Pediatric Endoscopic Surgery, the International Association of Surgeons Gastroenterologists and Oncologists, the European Association of Translumenal Surgery, and the Romanian Society of Surgery.
