Katherina Neussl is currently pursuing her specialization in Ophthalmology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. She earned her medical degree from the University of Leipzig in December 2024. During her studies, Mrs. Neussl developed a strong interest in cardiovascular research and joined the Herzzentrum Leipzig in 2021, where she contributed to basic research in fibro-calcific aortic valve disease (FCAVD). Her work in this field led to her first co-authorship in July 2023, in collaboration with Dr. Julia Böttner. Mrs. Neussl's academic and clinical interests lie at the intersection of translational research and patient-centered care, and she is committed to advancing both scientific knowledge and clinical excellence in ophthalmology.
