Author Biographies

Karen Graham (BPhty Hons I APAM) is a sole practitioner physiotherapist in Tasmania and has almost 19 years of experience working with children with disability and their families. She is a passionate advocate for inclusion and has experience with a wide variety of childhood-onset disability. Karen has worked with her clients in community settings, including as a senior physiotherapist in multi-disciplinary therapy centres, schools, in the community and in aquatic settings. She also provides training to schools for manual handling and enjoys supporting her clients to participate in community sports. Karen completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Queensland (UQ) with first class Honours in 2006 and commenced her PhD studies at UQ in 2024 part-time, transitioning to full-time at the start of 2026. Karen’s PhD aims to co-design solutions to access swimming programs for and with children with disability.
