Prof. Dr. Yu Gao is a professor and doctoral
supervisor of High Voltage and Electrical Insulation at Tianjin University. He
received his Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical and Information
Engineering, Tianjin University. From 2017 to 2018, he went to the Tony Davis
High Voltage Laboratory, University of Southampton, UK, as a visitor. He has
won the second prize for scientific and technological progress in Tianjin, been
selected as a Beiyang Young Scholar at Tianjin University, won the first prize
for innovative achievements by the China Equipment Management Association,
received the second prize for scientific and technological progress from State
Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company, and was selected for the Tianjin
"131" Talent Plan and so on. In addition, he also serves as an
editorial board member for "Insulation Materials", a member of the
Electrical Testing Special Committee of the China Electrotechnical Society, an
expert in the Urban Power Grid Special Committee of the China Electric Power
Technology Market Association, and the director of the Academic Committee of
the Tianjin Key Laboratory of Vacuum Switch Technology Enterprises, among other
positions. His main research interest is aging phenomena and the evaluation of
polymer-insulating material
