Dr. Yuankun Zhai is an Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at the School of Dental Medicine, Henan University, where he heads the Oral Biology Laboratory and the Key Laboratory of Periodontal Tissue Engineering in Kaifeng City. He earned his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Northwestern University in 2015 and conducted postdoctoral research from 2016 to 2019 at the University of Louisville and the University of Rochester in the United States. Since joining Henan University in 2019, Dr. Zhai has played a leading role in building the school’s scientific research platform. His research focuses on the proliferation and differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, mitochondrial autophagy, bone tissue engineering, the pathogenesis of osteoporosis, and periodontal regeneration.
