Bernardita Tornero is an educational psychologist with a Ph.D. in Education. She is an accomplished academic leader and scholar with over a decade of experience in higher education management, teacher education, and international research collaboration. Her professional trajectory includes leading large academic units, managing institutional budgets, and directing programs that have strengthened institutional quality, improved student outcomes, and enhanced faculty productivity. Since 2014, she has served as an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Universidad de los Andes, where she teaches courses in developmental psychology and education. She has also served as Executive Director of a non-governmental organization that operates a free school for highly vulnerable students. Her research focuses on early childhood education and teacher training, with a particular emphasis on pedagogical strategies that foster cognitive skill development and student wellbeing.
