Valeria Calcaterra is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Pavia, and a Pediatrician at the Department of Pediatrics, Buzzi Children’s Hospital, Milan, Italy. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pavia and completed her residency cum laude in Pediatrics at the Department of Pediatric Science at Pavia University. Her research interests include pediatric endocrinology and diabetology, auxology, immunology and autoimmunity, diabetes mellitus, pediatric obesity and metabolic complications, bariatric surgery in young patients, malnutrition, thyroid autoimmune disease, disorders of puberty, congenital and rare diseases, and translational research.
Gianvincenzo Zuccotti is a Full Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Milan (Italy), Director of the Department of Pediatrics at Buzzi Hospital, Milan (Italy), Member of the Board of Directors of the University of Milan, and President of the College of Full Professors of Pediatrics – COPED/AIP. He has many years of clinical and research experience in the field of pediatrics and its various subspecialties, with particular expertise in pediatric infectious diseases, nutrition, endocrine disorders and diabetes, pediatric chronic non-communicable diseases, preventive and translational medicine, digital health, telemedicine, and healthcare systems. Winner of competitive national and international research grants. He has participated in more than 450 invited national and international conferences. He is a member of the editorial board and a peer reviewer for international journals and the author of more than 800 international scientific publications.
