Author Biographies

Dr. Roula Aad is a Landscape Sustainability expert. She completed her PhD studies in Agricultural and Food Sciences, following two master’s degrees in (i) Landscape Design & Management and (ii) Environmental Engineering. She is the inventor of the Landscape Sustainability Assessment (LSA) Tool and has been recognized for her contributions to innovation in landscape sustainability and landscape management. She also founded the pioneering Sustainable Landscape Innovation Workshop (SLiW) to prototype inventive green models. She recently led the “Eye in the Sky” project applying drone technology in sustainable landscape management, as well as the Green Vision 2030, Tripoli City Nursery, and GreenTrip initiatives. She serves as a member of the advisory board of Branch 7 of the Order of Engineers, as well as senior coordinator of innovation programs. She is also an active member of the Lebanese Association for Landscape Architecture, affiliated with the International Federation of Landscape Architects. Her teaching disciplines include landscape design, environmental management, biodiversity, and sustainability assessment tools, and her research interests include innovative approaches to sustainable development, landscape dynamics, and community-based green space design.
