Professor Nicolas P. Avdelidis, Ph.D., is a Professor of Aerospace Systems Management in the Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics at the University of Southampton in Southampton, UK. His research is focused on non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT&E) of materials and structures, with a particular emphasis on the use of infrared imaging and image fusion. His work also involves the development of robotic and autonomous systems for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO), and the implementation of digital twins for aircraft health management. He has also held academic positions at Cranfield University and Université Laval in Canada.
