The author was born in 1989 in Istanbul, Turkey. She graduated with honors in 2008 from Istanbul Erkek High School, one of the most prestigious high schools in Turkey, which provides education in German and confers the “Abitur” diploma qualifying students for university admission in Germany.
She earned her M.D. degree in 2014 from the English-language program of Istanbul University, Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine. She subsequently completed her residency in psychiatry at Bakırköy Prof. Dr. Mazhar Osman Mental Health and Neurological Diseases Training and Research Hospital, one of the leading psychiatric institutions in the country.
Throughout her training and professional career, she has participated in numerous national and international educational programs. Her academic interests include cognitive functioning, psychotic disorders, neurobiological mechanisms of psychiatric illnesses, and psychooncology.
