Dr. Jose de Jesus Rangel-Magdaleno received a B.E. in electronics engineering and an M.E. in electrical engineering, specializing in hardware signal processing, from the Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico, in 2006 and 2008, respectively. He received his Ph.D. from the Universidad Autonoma de Queretaro, Mexico, in 2011. He is now a full researcher at the Electronics Department at INAOE, Mexico. He received the 2018 Outstanding Young Engineer Award from the IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Society. He is a member of the Mexican National Research System (SNI), level 2. His research interests include FPGAs, signal and image processing, instrumentation, and mechatronics.

Dr. Juan Manuel Ramirez-Cortes is a Titular Researcher at the Electronics Department, National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics, and Electronics (INAOE), Mexico. He received a B.Sc. degree from the National Polytechnic Institute, Mexico, and an M.Sc. from the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics, and Electronics (INAOE). He completed his PhD studies in Computer Vision and Image Analysis at Texas Tech University. He is an appointed member of the Administrative Committee of IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society, and he is currently serving as Jr Past President. His research interests include signal and image processing, digital systems, computational intelligence techniques, as well as instrumentation and measurement applications in diverse fields.
Dr. H. Peregrina-Barreto received a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the Instituto Tecnológico de Cuautla, Mexico, in 2006, a Master’s in engineering from the Universidad de Guanajuato, Mexico, in 2008, and a Ph.D. in engineering from the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, Mexico, in 2011. In 2014, she was a Postdoctoral Researcher in medical imaging at the National Institute for Astrophysics, Optics, and Electronics in Puebla, Mexico, where she is currently a Titular Researcher. Her current research interests include image processing, machine learning, and biomedical applications. Dr. H. Peregrina-Barreto is a member of the Mexican National Research System (SNII).
