Prof. Dr. Ping Zhang is a Chief Physician, Professor, and Doctoral Supervisor at Tsinghua University. She currently serves as Vice President of Beijing Tsinghua Changgong Hospital, Director of the Cardiovascular Center, and Vice President of the Institute of Intelligent Medical Research at Tsinghua University. Prof. Zhang earned her M.D. in Clinical Medicine (1989) and Ph.D. in Clinical Medicine (1995) from Beijing Medical University. She began her career in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Peking University Third Hospital and Peking University People’s Hospital, where she also served as Assistant Director of the Interventional Center. From 2014 to 2021, she was Director of the Department of Cardiology and Deputy Director of Internal Medicine at Beijing Tsinghua Changgong Hospital. In 2021, she was officially appointed Vice President of the hospital. Her clinical and research expertise encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmias, coronary heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathy, hypertension, and critical cardiovascular diseases. She has extensive experience in the prevention of sudden cardiac death, device-based management of heart failure, and the diagnosis and treatment of hereditary cardiovascular diseases.
