Alptekin Temizel is a Professor at the Graduate School of Informatics at Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey. He earned his Ph.D. from the Center for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP) at the University of Surrey, UK, in 2006. He is the Principal Investigator of the Deep Learning and Computer Vision Research Lab. From 2016 to 2017, he was on sabbatical at the University of Birmingham, UK. He also collaborates with various companies on the design and deployment of machine learning systems. His research focuses on computer vision, machine learning, deep learning, and GPU computing.
