Dr. Garrido is Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Dept. of Math. and Stats at Concordia U., in Montreal, Canada. After working as an actuarial analyst for Towers Watson in Montreal (then called TPF&C), he received a Masters from U. Catholique de Louvain, in Belgium, and his PhD in 1987 from the Dept. of Stats and Actuarial Sc. at the U. of Waterloo, Canada (supervisor: Prof. Harry Panjer). He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and was an Associate of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, from 2012 to 2021.
