Vjacheslav Pilipenko is currently the head of the “Physics of the Near-Earth Environment” Laboratory at the Institute of Physics of the Earth of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow. He is also a senior researcher at the Space Research Institute and a leading researcher in the Geophysical Center. Additionally, he is a part-time professor at Augsburg University in Minneapolis. Pilipenko graduated from the Department of Physics of Moscow State University in 1973. His research topics mainly include solar-terrestrial relationships, space plasma, waves in the magnetosphere and ionosphere, and seismo-electromagnetic phenomena. He has published over 330 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
