Author Biographies

Prof. Luciana Zaccagni is an Associate Professor at the Department of Neuroscience and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Prevention, University of Ferrara. Her major research interests lie in investigations of Kinanthropometry; Body Composition Assessment; Somatotype; Nutrition Assessment; Human Nutrition; Nutritional and Metabolic Diseases; Body image perception; Physical Activity and Sports; Immigrants; Growth and Adolescence.
Prof. Stefania Toselli is Full Professor at the Department for Life Quality Studies, University of Bologna. She completed her PhD in Anthropological Science at the University of Bologna in 1993. Her research interests include human biology and anthropometry, with a focus on the study of contemporary populations—particularly body composition and fat distribution, hydration status, and body image perception—across different age groups, sexes, physical activity levels, and lifestyles. Her work specifically addresses issues related to growth, ageing, kinanthropometry, human body composition evaluation, and bio-cultural diversity in today’s multiethnic societies.
Prof. Emanuela Gualdi-Russo is a Full Professor of Biological Anthropology and an eminent scholar at the Department of Neuroscience and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy and Prevention, University of Ferrara. Her major research interests lie in investigations of Anthropometrics; Metabolic Diseases; Human Nutrition; Body composition; Body image perception; Immigrants; Biology of the human skeleton; Physical Activity and Sports; and Regression Modeling.
