Javier Enrique Orozco Ospino is a faculty member at the School of Engineering and Basic Sciences of Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina in Colombia. He earned his degree in Civil Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander (1995), and both his Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and Environment (2017) and his Ph.D. in Sustainable Development (expected 2025) from the University of Manizales, also in Colombia. Since 2011, he has served as a research professor. His research focuses on sustainability, particularly the governance and management of protected areas.
Gloria Yaneth Flórez Yepes is currently an Associate Researcher, a position valid until the publication of the results of the next call. She earned her degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Administration from Santo Tomás de Aquino University in 2004, her Master’s degree in Sustainable Development and Environment from the University of Manizales in 2009, and her Doctorate in Sustainable Development from the same university in 2018. Since 2010, she has worked as a Research Professor. Her research focuses on sustainability, especially in relation to water resources, with studies conducted in various wetlands to assess their quality and the impacts on surrounding production systems.
Luis Carlos Díaz Muegue holds a Doctorate in Engineering from Universidad de Antioquia, specializing in coal mining soil restoration using oil palm biochar. He earned his degree in Mining Engineering from Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. Since 2018, he has served as R&D Manager for Engineering at Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina in Valledupar, where he leads the institutional research groups of the engineering faculty. His expertise spans mining environmental planning, biochar applications, and ecological soil remediation. He actively contributes to sustainable mining practices through technological innovation and academic leadership.
