Shantharama Patil received his Diploma in Civil Engineering from Dr. TMA Pai Polytechnic (1992), Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from MIT Manipal (1997), Master's degree in Structural Engineering from MIT Manipal (1999), and Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from NITK Surathkal (2008). He is currently serving as a Professor at Manipal School of Architecture and Planning, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, India. He worked as Lecturer at Dr. TMA Pai Polytechnic (1 year) and NITK Surathkal (6+ years), then progressed through academic ranks as Associate Professor (5+ years) and Professor (12+ years) at MAHE, Manipal. His research topics mainly include: composite materials, computational structural mechanics, earthquake-resistant design, and advanced RCC/steel structures, with professional expertise spanning finite element analysis, prestressed concrete, and construction systems. A life member of multiple engineering societies (ASTR, ISSE, IEI), Dr. Patil bridges academia and industry through consultancy roles, having previously served as Design Engineer at ACE Technocrats (2 years) and Project Engineer at Kasturba Medical College (1 year). His career integrates teaching, research, and administrative leadership, including PhD coordination at MAHE group of Institutions.
