Author Biographies

Dong Gaosen received an M.S. degree in System Science from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, Chongqing, China, in 2020. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Control Science and Engineering from Xidian University. His research interests are discrete event systems and their supervisory control techniques, Petri nets, automated manufacturing systems, and supervisory simplification.
Zhengfeng Ming was born in Xi’an County, Shaanxi Province, China. He received his B.S. degree in automatic control from Xi’an University of Technology, Xi’an, China, in 1988, his M.S. degree in industrial electrical automation from Xi’an Science University, Xi’an, in 1993, and his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Xi’an University of Technology, in 2002. From March 2003 to April 2005, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher of electrical engineering in Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. He joined Xidian University thereafter and is currently a Professor and Director of the Department of Electrical Engineering. He was a visiting Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT), Newark, in 2009. He has authored more than 50 published technical conference and journal papers in the area of power electronics. His research interests include digital control for power electronics applications, high-power converters, three-phase inverters and rectifiers, motor drives, soft-switching techniques, and integrated power electronics systems.
Prof. Hesuan Hu  is a Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Xidian University, and also a Collaborator at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a Researcher at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He received his B.S. degree in computer engineering and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electromechanical engineering from Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 2003, 2005, and 2010, respectively. His research interests include discrete-event systems and their supervisory control techniques, Petri nets, automated manufacturing systems, multimedia streaming systems, autonomous vehicles, cyber security, and artificial intelligence. Prof. Hesuan Hu is a recipient of many national and international awards, including the Franklin V. Taylor Memorial Award for Outstanding Papers from the IEEE SMC Society in 2010 and was a finalist for the Best Automation Paper from the IEEE ICRA Society in 2013, 2016, and 2017. He has been an Associate Editor of IEEE Control Systems Magazine, IEEE Robotics and Automation Magazine, IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering, IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, and Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing. He is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer.
