Prof. Dr. Wujun Chen studied in the Department of Civil Engineering of Zhejiang University from September 1995 to March 1999 and obtained his Ph.D. degree. From March 1999 to December 2000, he worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Mechanics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. From December 2000 to January 2008, he worked as an Associate Professor and Master's Supervisor at the Center for Spatial Structures of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. From January 2008 to January 2017, he worked as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the Center for Spatial Structures of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. From January 2017 to date, he has been a Tenured Professor and Supervisor of the "Zhiyuan Honorary Doctoral Program" at the Center for Spatial Structures of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research directions mainly include: analysis theory and design technology of large-span space structures; analysis theory and design technology of new light structures; analysis theory and design technology of ultra-light floating structures; analysis theory and design technology of large-scale deployable structures; analysis theory and design technology of flexible mechanical metamaterials, intelligent materials, origami and paper-cut structures, and pneumatic soft robots.
