Prof. Yongqing Zeng received a B.Sc. degree in Agronomy in Animal Husbandry from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Anhui Agricultural University, in 1985, an M.Sc. degree in Agronomy in Animal Production from the Department of Veterinary Medicine, Shandong Agricultural University, in 1988, and a Ph.D. degree in Agronomy in Animal Genetics, Breeding, and Reproduction from the College of Animal Science and Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, in 2004. He is a Professor at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Shandong Agricultural University. He has participated in teaching, scientific research, and social services in the fields of animal genetics and pig production.

Prof. Wei Chen received a B.Sc. degree in Agronomy in Animal Science from Shandong Agricultural University, in June 2008, an M.Sc. degree in Agronomy in Animal Genetics, Breeding, and Reproduction from Shandong Agricultural University, in June 2011, and a Ph.D. degree in Animal Genetics, Breeding, and Reproduction from Shandong Agricultural University, in June 2014. He is an Associate Professor at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Shandong Agricultural University. He is also a director of the Pig Science Branch of the Chinese Society of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine and a director of the Animal Welfare and Healthy Breeding Branch. He is mainly engaged in scientific research in the fields of mining excellent genes for major economic traits such as pork quality and stress resistance, developing and utilizing local pig germplasm resources, and large-scale healthy pig farming technology.
