Alsulami received his BSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Queen Mary University of London in 2014 and his MSc in Drug Discovery and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nottingham in 2015. He obtained his PhD in Experimental and Computational Drug Discovery from the University of Cambridge in 2022 under the supervision of Professor Sir Tom Blundell. He then worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Blundell Laboratory at the University of Cambridge from 2022 to 2024, focusing on drug discovery for Mycobacterium abscessus. In 2024, he moved to King Abdulaziz University, where he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry. His research topics mainly include computational and experimental drug discovery, structural bioinformatics, molecular dynamics simulations, molecular docking, machine learning in drug discovery, protein structural biology (Cryo-EM), and medicinal chemistry.
