Paul H. Gobster, PhD, FASLA, is Senior Research Landscape Architect emeritus with the People and Their Environments unit of the USDA Forest Service’s Northern Research Station in Chicago. His research develops concepts and tools to enhance people’s connections with nature in urban and rural settings.
