Dr. Evangelia N. Kerezoudi, with a background on Nutrition-Dietetics and Molecular Nutrition, completed her Ph.D. in Biomedicine at the School of Medical Sciences, Örebro University, in 2025. Her research centers on nutritional sciences, with a strong emphasis on gut health, particularly the interplay between dietary fibres, intestinal barrier function, host–microbiota interactions, and immune modulation. She integrates clinical, in vitro, and ex vivo models to investigate how specific dietary components shape gastrointestinal physiology and host responses, contributing to evidence-based strategies in nutrition and health.
Dr. Annick Mercenier is Chief Innovation Officer at
NutriLeads. She joined the Nestle Research Center in 2002. In 2012, she served
as the Science & Strategy Coordinator to the Nutrition & Health
Department. In 2016, she became the Head of the Host-Microbe Interaction group,
Nutrition Health Research. Then, she served as the Head of Gut Ecosystem
Department and Institute of Nutritional Sciences from 2017 to 2018. She has
served as the Chief Innovation Officer at NutriLeads since 2018. During
this period, she also served as an Associate Professor in the Host-Microbe
Interactomics group at the University of Wageningen (2011–2016). Her research
keywords are prebiotic, microbiome, scfa, colon, bifidobacteria, Pectin,
transepithelial electrical resistance (teer), rhamnogalacturonan-i (rg-i),
crg-i, and innate immune response.
