Prof. Dr. Zhijiang Yang is an associate researcher and master’s supervisor at the School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology. He graduated from the China University of Mining and Technology in 2001, 2004, and 2019 with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in civil engineering and geotechnical engineering. His research areas include the basic theory and application technology of special well drilling; interaction between deep rock–soil media and structures; underground engineering detection and monitoring technology; and underground structure design and safety assessment. He has presided over more than 20 horizontal scientific research projects and has received 2 Jiangsu Science and Technology Progress Awards, 2 Shandong Science and Technology Progress Awards, and 6 Coal Industry Association Science and Technology Progress Awards. He holds 4 authorized national invention patents and has published more than 10 papers.
Prof. Dr. Tao Han is an associate researcher and master’s supervisor at the School of Mechanics and Civil Engineering, China University of Mining and Technology. He graduated from the China University of Mining and Technology in 2004, 2007, and 2011 with bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in civil engineering and geotechnical engineering. His research areas include special well drilling theory and application technology; interaction between deep rock–soil media and structures; and well wall structure detection, monitoring, and safety assessment. He has presided over one National Natural Science Foundation project, one National Key R&D Program sub-project, and more than 20 horizontal scientific research projects. He has received four first prizes for scientific and technological progress from the China Coal Industry Association, one special prize from the China Construction Enterprise Management Association, one second prize for scientific and technological progress from the State Administration of Work Safety, one third prize for science and technology from Hebei Province, and four third prizes for scientific and technological progress from the Coal Industry Association. He holds two authorized national invention patents, has published more than 10 papers in core journals, and has contributed to the editing of two textbooks.

Weihao Yang is a Professor and Director of the Institute of Geotechnical Engineering, as well as Academic Leader of the State Key Discipline of Geotechnical Engineering, at the China University of Mining and Technology. He completed his PhD in Mine Construction at the China University of Mining and Technology in 1994 and has since received the National Science and Technology Progress Award, one Provincial/Ministerial Grand Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, two First Prizes, three Second Prizes, and three Third Prizes. He serves as a committee member of the China Group of the International Society for Rock Mechanics and as a council member of the Glacier and Frozen-Soil Branch of the Geographical Society of China. His teaching areas include frozen-soil engineering and mine construction technology, and his research interests focus on ground-freezing response mechanisms, special shaft-sinking techniques, and engineering applications in cold regions.
