Dr. Veronica Marchetti is an associate professor at the Department of Veterinary Sciences, University of Pisa, Italy. She graduated with honors in 1996 from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pisa. She earned a Ph.D. in 1998 from the same university and then, in 2001, a specialization in Pathology and Clinical Medicine of Pet Animals from the School of Specialization, focusing on Gastroenterology. She is the author of over 170 national and international publications, as well as the co-author of scientific texts in internal medicine and cytology. Since 2002, she has been a researcher at the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine and, since 2016, an associate professor at the Department of Veterinary Sciences. She teaches clinical medicine at the “Mario Modenato” Veterinary Teaching Hospital (ODV), specializing in internal medicine, with a particular interest in gastroenterology and medical oncology, and clinical pathology. From 2012 to 2017, she served as head of the intensive care unit at the aforementioned hospital, and since 2002, she has been the contact for the non-hematological diagnostic cytology service in the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of the aforementioned ODV.
