Professor Thavarajah is a distinguished academic with an impressive educational background, including a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Biological Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from the University of Toronto. She further enhanced her expertise by completing a three-year post-doctoral fellowship in organic and medicinal chemistry at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. Additionally, she holds an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law and an M.Ed. in Teaching in Higher Education. She has been a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Sciences at the University of Toronto for over twelve years. During this time, she has taught a variety of chemistry courses and has successfully obtained numerous research grants. Her research primarily concentrates on clean water technology, resulting in several publications and presentations at various conferences. Professor Thavarajah is committed to creating an inclusive learning environment by employing innovative teaching strategies and developing relevant curricula. She is also actively involved in several committees at the University of Toronto and has experience chairing conferences. Her unwavering dedication to teaching excellence and service has earned her multiple awards.
