Botao Lin is an Associate Professor at the China University of Petroleum (Beijing). He completed his B.S. in Geology in 2005, his M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering in 2007, both from Sun Yat-sen (Zhongshan) University (China), and his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma (USA) in 2012. His research areas and interests focus on the prediction of stress field and fracture networks in shale reservoirs, geomechanics and efficient recovery in heavy oil reservoirs, and deepwater foundations and pipeline geomechanics.
