Born in Turin, Italy, on February 5, 1961, he received his five-year master degree in chemical engineering on May 22, 1985, with a score of 110 out of 110. He gained two years of work experience in industry: in 1985 at SKF Group, in 1986 at Thales Alenia Space, and between 1986 and 1987 at the Istituto Donegani of Montedison-Enichem. In 1987, he began his service at the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy) and since 2000 has been an associate professor of Materials for the Mechanical Industry.
Research areas: 1) Ductile fracture of quenched and tempered steels; 2) Hydrogen embrittlement in alloys; 3) Portevin-Le Chatelier effect in rolled aluminum alloys; 4) Fatigue strength of pressure-cast aluminum components containing defects; and 5) Stress Corrosion Cracking in prestressed reinforced concrete steel related to the failure of bridges. He has authored publications in international conferences and journals. He has been invited as a professor at the École Centrale Paris in France and École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland. He has consulted on Metallurgy and Failure Analysis at the Public Prosecutor's Office in Italy and for industry on the failure and degradation of structural components (Thales Alenia Space, Tubeurop, ZF Lemforder, Rockwell International, Embraco Europe, Renault, Dayco Europe, Avio Group, Iride Energia, Teksid, Microtecnica, Zavero, Metaldyne Sintered Components, RSA, Georg Fischer-Charmilles, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, Johnson Electric).
Born in Amandola (AP), Italy, on April 29, 1999, and growing up in Comunanza (AP), on the pendix of Sibillini Italian National Park, he received at Politecnico di Torino firstly his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering on Sep 21st,
2021, and then his master degree in mechanical engineering on Apr 9th, 2024, specializing in mechanical design, with a score of 110 out of 110 cum laude.
