Jiuhua Chen received his Ph.D. degree in Synchrotron Radiation Physics from The Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Tsukuba, Japan in 1994. He currently holds the position of Professor at the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, Florida International University, and serves as a Director at the Center for the Study of Matters at Extreme Conditions. Additionally, he is a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), The Mineral, Metal and Material Society (TMS), Materials Research Society (MRS) and the High Pressure Society of America (HiPSA). His research topics mainly focus on Materials Science and Engineering, as well as Mineral Physics.
