Arthur
Erdman is the Richard C. Jordan Professor and a Morse Alumni Distinguished
Teaching Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. In
July 2007, he founded and became the director of the Earl E. Bakken Medical
Devices Center at the University of Minnesota. He received his B.S. in Mechanical
Engineering from Rutgers University in 1967, and earned his M.S. and Ph.D., both
in Mechanical Engineering, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1968 and
1971, respectively. He is also a member of the National Academy of Engineering,
the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE)
. He specializes in mechanical design, bioengineering
plus medical device and product design.
