Author Biographies

A computer systems engineer by profession, he is also an underwater photographer and amateur naturalist. A certified diver since 1994, he has logged hundreds of dives in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Red Seas, as well as the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans. He founded the M@re Nostrum Studies Group in 1996, was a founding member of GROC in 2010, and co-founded the VIMAR Community Science Group in 2012, which he currently manages. He has been actively engaged in citizen science since long before the term gained widespread recognition. Specializing in Mediterranean sea slugs, he is the author or co-author of several scientific publications on Heterobranchia and of the book Nudibranquis del mar catalĂ . He also serves as editor of several marine-focused websites, including marenostrum.org, vidamarina.info, and opistobranquis.info.
